2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Email address (when claiming a church or subscribing to a plan)
  • Church name, address, and contact information (when claiming a listing)
  • Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)

Information collected automatically

  • Search queries (church name, location, denomination filters)
  • Pages visited and time spent on site
  • Device type, browser, and approximate location (country/state)
  • IP address and referring URL

Church directory data

Church listings are sourced from public databases (Google Maps, OpenStreetMap) and from churches that claim their own listings. This information includes church names, addresses, phone numbers, websites, and service times — all of which are publicly available.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and maintain the church directory service
  • Process payments and manage premium subscriptions
  • Send transactional emails (receipts, subscription updates)
  • Improve search accuracy and directory quality
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.

4. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full credit card number. Stripe's privacy policy governs how your payment information is handled.

5. AI Voice Agent Calls

If your church subscribes to the AI Voice Agent, calls to your church's AI receptionist are recorded and transcribed for your review. Callers are informed that the call is handled by an AI system. Call recordings and transcripts are stored securely and accessible only to authorized church administrators.

6. Data Sharing

We share data only with:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Supabase — database hosting (SOC 2 compliant)
  • Vercel — web hosting
  • ElevenLabs / Twilio — AI voice agent processing (voice agent subscribers only)

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features of the site may not work properly.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Export your data in a portable format

9. Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, we retain minimal records for legal and accounting purposes for up to 7 years. You may request earlier deletion by contacting us.

10. Children

PewSearch is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of PewSearch after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
